The story begins in 2009, when a woman, from the Middle of Vietnam, took a trip to the South with an eye on the community developing project along with the other ladies from Hau Giang. On her bike, as she was admiring the flourishing view with all kinds of luxuriant plants, she wonders: “How come this place hasn’t been developed yet?”.
With the question lingering in her head, she decided to look for her own answer by asking her fellow project participants, from one to another, yet, no answer was fulfilling. Everyone she asked was spending too much time mourning over their underdevelopment that they forgot to make the best use of their lands and free time. Since then, she set a goal to, one day, make a difference and improve the livelihood of people living in this area. While working on the project, she took the time to learn more about organic agriculture in Malaysia, studied Rural Development in Can Tho University, looked into traditional husbandry, experimented on non-chemical gardening at home and started a small business with her friends. In 2017, she finally quit working on the project to devote her time on her dream of building a society where people can have self-control and live in harmony with the environment. That has been Abavina’s vision since, and that woman is Nguyễn Thị Kim Thoa, Master in Rural Development, CEO of Abavina Trading and Production Joint Stock Corporation.
